A Successful Week on the Mountain

At the end of week 3 we are really beginning to see the fruits of our labor. The Blue Ridge Log Cabins crew has completed all of their outside trim work. Inside they are waiting for all of the electrical and plumbing inspections to be completed before they can complete the interior trim.

Downstairs, Mike and crew are staying on schedule. Amp Electric has completed the wiring and passed inspection – one down! Plumbing should be next week. HVAC still has at least a week to go.

Outside, the perimeter of the house has been cleared for deck construction. The cedar posts have arrived, and they are massive. The post were delivered from Indiana, they were pressure washed to remove the bark and branched have been trimmed. They will be pressure washed again, bleached and stained once they are in place. Working with these large posts is a tricky job. Stay tuned next week for video updates.

We have just put the Creekside Cabin up for rental this summer. We have been living in this cabin for the last 1 1/2 years and totally enjoyed living on the creek. I’m sure our guests will find these accommodations a treat.

  1. Could you tell me how much you would rent the creekside cabin for? Would you be renting by the week or for long-weekends? Both? It would be a fabulous way to further explore if Blue Ridge Cabins are for us.
