Where Would You Build A Log Home?

Feb 15 – Today In 2008 Log Home Living Magazine chose Black Mountain in it’s Top 10 List of Places to Build A Log Home. In my mind, it still is. After 25+ years in Florida we are thrilled to have the opportunity to live our our dream in Western North Carolina. Florida was good to us, we raised two boys there – Ryan, 23 – recently completing a tour in the Infantry and a year in Afganistan is now attending college in Tampa and Brandon, 21 – living and working right here in Black Mountain with his lovely girlfriend Savannah. But we have 2 more children Jake, 14 and Mikayla, 11 and we felt it was time to get out of South Florida where the population is over 5 Million to a small town and get back to nature.  The Blue Ridge Mountains are beautiful, the people are wonderful, so much to experience nearby, and we are centrally located so a quick weekend or a day trip can get us to so many wonderful destinations.

So I could go on and on why Black Mountain is a great place to build a log cabin. If you could build a log cabin any where – where would it be?

(PS. Now that we have fulfilled our dream of a log home in North Carolina, our next goal is to find a place and build one in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.)
